A popular addition to your stay
in the Serengeti National Park is a balloon safari. This option
includes early morning transfer to the balloon staging ground,
about 50 minutes flight over the Serengeti and a celebration
bush breakfast pre-pared upon landing. Advance booking is
advised.
Air transportation has come a long
way in the last few years in Tanzania. There are now daily
scheduled flights to many of the popular locations from Arusha.
Most parks and towns have air strips accessible by smaller
planes. Arusha’s Municipal Airport can accommodate planes
of up to 45 passengers.
 Kilimanjaro
International Airport, the closest airport to Arusha, is currently
served by a number of international carriers including KLM
Royal Dutch Airlines (3 times each week), Alliance Air (once
weekly), and Ethiopian Airlines. Visitors to the southern
parks, beaches or Zanzibar may also use a number of international
airlines that service Dar es Salaam International Airport.
Zanzibar is served by international, charter and domestic
air carriers.
